Verity's Fanfic (final)

This is a fanfic base on the fairytale "Little Red-Riding-Hood".

Little Red-Riding-Hood

Once there was a little village maiden, the prettiest cutest ever seen. Her grandmother was foolishly fond of her. Once the old woman made for her a red little hood out of velvet fabric, it fits the little girl just right. From that on, the girl always has the red little hood on her and that after she went by the name of Little Red-Riding-Hood.

One day the mother told Little Red-Riding-Hood to go see her grandmother who’s not well with a piece of cake and a pot of butter. Grandmother lives outside of the village far away at other side of the wood.

Little Red-Riding-Hood met her friend the great wolf after she enter the wood. Wolf came up and spoke to her politely.

“Hello, Little Red-Riding-Hood, how are you today?”

The little girl stopped and replied with a smile.

“I am very well, thank you Mr. Wolf.”

“Where are you going?” asked the wolf.

“I am going to see my grandmother and to take her a piece of cake and a pot of butter.” Little Red-Riding-Hood lifted up the cloth on the basket and showed it to the wolf. “Poor grandmother is not very well; hope she will get better soon.”

“…I see.” The wolf stopped for one second and asked again “Is it very far from here?”

“Oh yes, it is at the other side of the wood.”

The wolf frowned and thought for a while “Please take care on the way, I will go there first to inquire your grandmother and to tell her you are on the way to visit her.”

“Oh thank you so much Mr. Wolf, see you later.”

Then Wolf ran as fast as ever he could, took the shortest road, he has to get there before Little Red-Riding-Hood.

When Little Red-Riding-Hood arrived at grandmother’s place, the sky is almost dark. She knocked on the door and didn’t know it was the wolf who’s waiting for her inside, not her grandmother.

“Who is there?” said the wolf with his gruff voice, but Little Red-Riding-Hood felt it must because her poor grandmother had caught a very bad cold.

She answered cheerfully, “It is your child, Little Red-Riding-Hood, I brought you a cake and a pot of butter that mother had sent you.”

After Wolf had make sure it was Little Red-Riding-Hood’s voice, he softened his voice as much as he could and told her to come in.

Little Red-Riding-Hood opened the door and entered the house.

Wolf suddenly lowered his voice and whispered “Come to bed! Hurry!!

Little Red-Riding-Hood went near to the bed and surprised to found out it was Mr. Wolf on her grandmother’s bed.

“What are you doing here Mr. Wolf!? And where is my dear grandmother?”

“Shhhh….” Wolf whispered “don’t be loud, come in first and I will explain to you.”

Little Red-Riding-Hood nodded and climbed onto the bed. Wolf put the sheet over onto Little Red-Riding-Hood. After the two is fully hid under the sheet, Wolf finally started to speak.

“There is something I have to tell you.” Said the wolf in a shaking voice “Your grandmother is dead, I am very sorry.”

“……”Little Red-Riding-Hood was so shocked that her brain went blank and couldn’t say anything for quite a while “…this is not possible…” when she finally spoke again, her tears also falls along her voice.

“…I am sorry…” Wolf took Little Red-Riding-Hood in his arms and wiped away the tears on her face.

After Little Red-Riding-Hood had calmed down, Wolf held her hand and said “We need to get out of the wood as soon as possible.”

“Why?”

“The person who killed your grandmother is an evil witch; she looks for innocent children and captures them for sacrifice. And this time, her target is you.”

Little Red-Riding-Hood was so scared and almost begin to cry again. Wolf griped her hands tight and speak with strengthen in his eyes “Don’t worry, I will protect you and promises I will let you return home safely.”

Wolf had a quick peek at the windows and said again “I already killed the evil witch, right now is the hunter whose hiding outside the house is who we need to worry about. The hunter is helping the witch hunting little kids.”

Wolf and Little Red-Riding-Hood get out of the bed and crawly on the floor, carefully not to make any big sound.

Wolf and Little Red-Riding-Hood put their ears close to the door, and they could hear the hunter’s footsteps outside.

Wolf grabbed Little Red-Riding-Hood and hide her behind himself “I will attract the hunter’s attention, and you need to run as fast as you can, understand?”

Little Red-Riding-Hood shakes her head hard and sob “No, Mr. Wolf, I don’t want to leave you, it’s too dangerous.”

Wolf patted on Little Red-Riding-Hood’s head and smile “I will be ok, trust me. I promise I will meet you again tomorrow at the usual place.”

“…” Little Red-Riding-Hood nodded after a long pause, Wolf gave her a big hug.

“That’s my girl.”

Wolf opened the door and rush towards the hunter whose been waiting outside with a long gun.

“Run!!!” Wolf yelled out loud while fighting with the Hunter. Little Red-Riding-Hood ran so hard that she almost trip over a few times. She could not stopped crying, her tears blocked her sights, but she know she cannot stop running no matter what happen.

“BANG!!!”

A gunshot across the wood…

The End.

  1. Just wondering if this is based on the fairytale? If it is, it is a interesting take on it! Would be good if you expanded on the witch sacrificing little kids part of the story to give readers a better understanding. But that's entirely up to you. I like how you made the wolf the good guy in this fanfic. I'm not sure if this is your draft or final :/ other than that keep up the good work!
